PTA Meeting Monday April 29
Please join us on Monday April 29 in the Merrill library for the final PTA meeting of the school year! We will begin at 7:00pm and the meeting is expected to last no more than an hour.

Coin War Fundraiser
Titlewish Fundraiser for the Merrill Library
The annual Titlewish fundraiser benefiting the Merrill Library is now open, and will run from April 8th through the 22nd!
This is an online fundraising program created by Follett, one of our district book vendors. 100% of donations made through Merrill’s unique link will go toward the purchase of new books for the library, with Follett matching 10%.
Please share the link with friends and family who may be interested in supporting Merrill!
Volunteer to be a reading mentor at Merrill
Please see the attached flyer to learn about opportunities to help our students to become more proficient in reading. The PTA is sharing this request from Simone Freeman, Merrill’s Community Schools Coordinator.

8th grade Science Center Field Trip
April 3, whole 8th grade class
9:00am – 12:30pm
Duties: chaperone a small group of students throughout the day as they explore various spaces in the Science Center and view the “Iowa Skies” Show in the Star Theater. Ride the yellow bus to and from the Science Center and restroom break supervision.

8th grade visit to JA Financial Park
April 8, 50 students invited
April 9, 46 students invited
8:30am – 2:00pm
Duties: chaperone students as they participate in the financial literacy simulation. Walking to and from the venue with students, lunch supervision, restroom break supervision, and station guidance. Most importantly, have FUN!
Volunteer for one day or both.

For Merrill 8th Graders: Please mark your calendars for the Roughrider Roundup at Roosevelt, Thursday April 25 starting at 6:00pm.
Course Selection Clinic for Grade 8
Families of 8th graders: save the date, Tuesday November 14!
The Merrill counseling department is hosting a course selection clinic to help explain the options that your student will have for next year.
The PTA will not have a meeting in November.

Year-Round School Supplies Wishlist
We have created an Amazon wishlist for school supplies to help Merrill students and classrooms be successful.
